POSITION SUMMARY:
The Entry-Level Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards before reaching customers. This role involves conducting visual inspections, performing measurements, operating testing equipment, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement efforts in product quality and manufacturing processes.
SHIFT:
- Monday - Thursday 5:30am - 4:00pm
SUPERVISES:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on raw materials, components, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
Perform precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
Operate testing machinery and equipment to assess product performance, functionality, and reliability.
Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and quality-related documentation.
Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve quality issues, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and accurate quality assessments.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and calibration of quality control equipment.
Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Communicate quality-related information and reports to supervisors and team members.
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations in the quality control area
ADDITIONAL RESPONIBILITIES:
Participate in educational opportunities and training to enhance job knowledge and quality control skills.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying potential process enhancements.
Assist with audits and internal compliance checks as needed.
Experience and Skills:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional technical certifications or coursework in quality control, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
No prior experience necessary; however, exposure to quality control practices or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Basic knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and familiarity with testing equipment preferred.
Proficiency in using computers for data entry and record-keeping.
Strong attention to detail and observation skills to identify defects and maintain product consistency.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting quality-related information.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
Analytical thinking with problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new procedures and adjust to changing production requirements.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
Regularly lift, bend, reach, twist, and turn.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Sufficient vision to distinguish details and perform inspections accurately.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
May require working at different stations or rotating tasks as production needs dictate.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company safety standards.
