Responsibilities
- Perform fiber jetting and blowing for the installation of fiber optic cables in various environments.
- Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Conduct fiber splicing, termination, and testing to guarantee optimal network performance.
- Collaborate with service technicians to troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to telephone and Ethernet systems.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance performed on fiber optic systems.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations and service calls.
Requirements
- Proven experience in low voltage cabling, including fiber optic installations.
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
- Strong knowledge of network installation practices, including telephone and Ethernet systems.
- Experience in fiber splicing techniques is highly desirable.
