Job Function
Manage the curriculum process assuring the integrity of the courses and programs. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director of the Provost Office to achieve departmental, divisional, and institutional initiatives. Provide management support to the Learning Unit for the curriculum process. Furnish procedure analysis and development, training and guidance for credit and non-credit curriculum.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages the College’s database systems to ensure the quality and integrity of credit and non-credit courses and programs. Creates, maintains, and suggests improvements to procedures used in the curriculum process.
- Works collaboratively with the Learning Unit Administrators, support staff, and faculty, in all functions of the curriculum process for quality control.
- Manages the in-house production of the College Catalog. Institutes quality control measures to ensure integrity of approved curriculum throughout the College Catalog. Serves as the lead contact to the software company.
- Initiates production pert charts, tracks changes submitted by departments and curriculum committee.
- Develops, updates, and maintains process documentation for College Catalog.
- Creates and maintains Macomb Academic Evaluations (Program Plans) in Colleague to align with college catalog requirements. Troubleshoots issues and communicates resolution with Records and Registration and academic departments.
- Manages the Primary Syllabus (in the College Catalog) Review process based on faculty contract language.
- Manages the yearly Course Fee Review, makes recommendations to fee changes based on CPI information provided by Business Office. Provides recommended course fee changes to Associate Deans, Deans, and Provost. Coordinates with Computer Services to make changes.
- Troubleshoot problems for section builders related to Colleague section builds that may prevent student registration or cause Colleague production errors.
- Analyzes reports and corrects section offerings to ensure accuracy of information for student registration for credit and noncredit curriculum.
- Remains current with college database features and updates. Tests software patches to identify unintended consequences to curriculum screens and reports to Computer Services.
- Identifies effective uses of the college database systems, Macomb.edu, college catalog and MyMacomb to support curriculum and to assist with communication and training of users in the Learning Unit.
- Monitors, develops, updates, and recommends the addition, deletion, or modification of the Learning Unit guidelines and directives that are curriculum related.
- Collects data and prepares various curriculum and curriculum-related reports.
- Manages the curriculum process for Workforce & Continuing Education Courses, Catalog, and Schedule of Classes. Collaborates with WCE class builders, coordinators and administrators as needed to ensure quality of WCE offerings publications.
- Monitor and maintain the records retention for curriculum courses, syllabi, and programs.
- Performs special projects as assigned by the Executive Director of the Provost Office and Provost VP of the Learning Unit.
- Serves on College and ad hoc committees or taskforce as appropriate and serves as a liaison to all areas of the College as related to curriculum.
- Assists in the management of room scheduling software and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Associate degree required including coursework or training in computer information systems, software utilization, systems and procedures analysis, or project management from an accredited institution is required. Transcripts must be submitted with the application. Copies are acceptable for use during the screening process. Qualifications
Demonstrated work with curriculum. Experience with academic computer information systems. Effective use of Microsoft software applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to create and update documentation. Demonstrated follow-up on projects and assignments.
