What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Supervisor - Children's Outpatient - Contract position at Macomb County Community Mental Health?
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direction, provides direct and indirect clinical services to consumers, their families and designated others. Supervises staff members and performs leadership roles as assigned. Implements program components, participates in developing and implementing program outcomes and evaluations, monitors and collects data, and develops statistical reports. Teaches clinical methods and assists with day-to-day program functioning.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements program components and participates in developing and implementing program outcomes.
Participates in research and program evaluations, monitors record keeping, collects and develops statistics related to program outcomes.
Provides supervision to clinical staff including employee orientation, weekly or bi-weekly supervision meetings, performance reviews, case consultations, record reviews, and monthly clinical team meetings.
Provides emergency on call telephone support to staff after regular business hours, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
Reviews clinical staff documentation for accuracy and timeliness. Maintains clinical and administrative record keeping.
Acts as a liaison with other Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) direct and contract service providers, Integrated Care Organizations (ICO's), Managed Care Providers, and community agencies with the intent of ensuring prompt and appropriate coordination of health services.
Ensures persons-served are receiving services in the least restrictive level of care appropriate to the individual's needs.
Monitors and initiates action with staff to ensure appropriate claim payments can be processed. Performs equipmentand site maintenance oversight and reporting, as necessary.
Must be available to work flexible hours and on call rotation as required.
Monitors and initiates action to ensure that maximum standards of efficiency and production are promoted and upheld.
Operates an automobile while performing assigned job duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Doctorate in Psychology or a directly related mental health field
- Three (3) years of experience as a professional staff member in a children's mental health setting
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience as a supervisor of professional staff in a behavioral health setting
- Five (5) years of experience as a professional staff member in a children's mental health setting
- Experience in and/or a good understanding of children's case management services
- Two (2) years of experience working in programs that service children with both developmental disabilities and children with severe emotional disturbance
- Certified in or completed one (1) or more of the following evidence-based practices: (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP); Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD); Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF); or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP), or Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
Preferred Licenses or Certifications
- Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor (CAADC) and/or Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC)
