What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Center Coordinator II-Kings Park position at Macon-Bibb County Government?
The Community Center Coordinator II is responsible for assisting with supervising and conducting leisure activities at the assigned community recreation center and park.
- Assists in planning, organizing, conducting, and supervising the leisure activities at an assigned park.
- Assists as assigned in supervising and coordinating the use of all facilities at an assigned park.
- Assist as assigned with supervision of paid and non-paid personnel.
- Assists with maintaining accurate records and preparing reports as assigned.
- Assists in handling fees and charges as needed.
- Assists in overseeing the maintenance of the assigned park.
- Acts in the absence of the Community Center Director as assigned.
- Assists in insuring that all safety procedures are followed.
- Completes special projects and performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
- Responsible for recreation programs daily operations. They primarily organize and direct participants, schedule the use of the facilities, set up and keep records of equipment use, and ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used and maintained properly. They may lead classes and provide instruction in a recreational activity, such as Zumba, basketball, fitness training, etc.
- Responsible for fostering private, public, and neighborhood partnerships to support the enhancement of recreational facilities and programs.
Minimum a College graduate with a bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, or related field or High school graduate, or equivalent GED with four (4) years or more successful full-time working experience in parks/recreational programming or any equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the appointing authority. Must have valid Georgia Drivers License.
- Knowledge of the principles, objectives, and philosophy of parks/recreation.
- Knowledge of he various age characteristics as they apply to individual parks/recreation interest.
- Considerable working knowledge of personal computers and word processing and database software programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite, the Windows NT network, and internet and email services.
- Some knowledge of maintenance techniques.
- Ability to assist in supervision of paid and non paid personnel.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and handle money as applied.
- Ability to assist with the planning and administration of a park.
- Ability to work with groups of various sizes.
- Skills in conducting various parks/recreational activities.
- Skills in written and oral communications.
- Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
