What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Leader-Sr. Programs position at Macon-Bibb County Government?
The Recreation Leader-Sr Programs position is responsible for assisting with the supervision and conducting of leisure activities at an assigned community recreation center and park.
- Assists in conducting and supervising parks/recreational activities to include sports, athletic tournaments, leisure games, cultural arts and other activities.
- Assists in supervising, scheduling and coordinating the use of community center, parks and facilities at an assigned park.
- Demonstrates, organizes, teaches and leads parks/recreational activities for all age groups.
- Assists in supervising assigned personnel and volunteers.
- Assists in the maintenance and with safety problems.
- Assists in collecting and reporting fees and charges.
- Assists in keeping records and making reports.
- Makes budget recommendations for the operation of the center facilities and programs
- Completes special projects and performs other miscellaneous duties as required
The Recreation Leader-Sr Programs must be knowledgeable of the following principles, procedures, and concepts:
- Knowledge of recreation programs for senior citizens.
- Knowledge of parks/recreational activities.
- Knowledge of parks/recreational facilities.
- Knowledge of personal computers and basic programs.
- Ability to work with various groups from age 6 to seniors.
- Ability to direct program participants.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Ability to work with groups of various sizes.
- Skills in conducting various parks/recreational activities.
- Skills in written and oral communications.
