The Macon R-1 School District is seeking a Middle School (Grades 6-8) ELA/Reading Teacher for the 2025-2026 chool year.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Positive interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of digital resources, tools, and instructional applications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies
- Participates in curriculum review and design
- Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan
- Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction
- Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly
- Participates in building, grade level and/or subject area committees
- Participates in professional development activities
- Maintains accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline
- Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner
- Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns
- Reports suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by Board policy
- Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
- Attends established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings)
- Assumes other duties as assigned
