ABOUT THE ROLE : The Project Engineer plays a critical role in the successful execution of construction projects. This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and a passion for construction. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Project Planning & Scheduling :
ssist in developing and maintaining project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6 ).
Monitor project progress against the schedule and identify potential delays or schedule conflicts.
Develop and implement recovery plans for schedule delays.
Cost Control & Management :
ssist in preparing and managing project budgets.
Track project costs, identify variances, and implement cost-saving measures.
Process and analyze subcontractor bids and change orders.
Quality Control :
Review submittals from subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and building codes.
Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety regulations.
ssist in the development and implementation of quality control plans.
Technical Support :
Provide technical support to the Project Manager and construction team on various project-related issues.
ssist with the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
Research and resolve construction-related problems.
Safety :
Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and conducting safety inspections.
ssist in the development and implementation of site safety plans.
Communication :
Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Prepare project reports and presentations as required.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Experience with commercial construction projects (healthcare, education, etc.) preferred.
Strong understanding of construction documents (drawings, specifications).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
