Job Overview :
Our client is Seeking a Senior Cybersecurity and Network Architect for an Onsite Assignment at Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB) in Bedford, MA. The ideal candidate will hold a Secret Security Clearance and bring over 8 years of experience in network architecture, with a minimum of 5 years of experience designing and securing complex, large-scale networks within the defense or government sectors. CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, Security , or similar certifications are strongly preferred.
We seek a Senior Cyber and Network Architect Principal to join our client's team at Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB). The ideal candidate will be key in designing and implementing complex, mission-critical network infrastructures to support national defense objectives. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance, secure, and resilient networks that meet the needs of both operational and strategic defense initiatives. You will be responsible for providing architectural leadership, overseeing the implementation of cyber network solutions, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced cyber network architectures for secure and scalable defense solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineers, security specialists, and government representatives, to define system requirements and deliver customized solutions.
Ensure compliance with DoD security policies, industry best practices, and established network design principles.
Oversee the integration of cybersecurity protocols, network defense measures, and encryption technologies into network infrastructures.
Provide expert-level guidance on complex network issues and develop innovative solutions to address evolving security challenges.
Lead efforts to evaluate and optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability.
Support the evaluation and integration of new technologies and services to enhance network capabilities.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, promoting a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and briefings to senior leadership on network architecture, performance, and cybersecurity status.
Support testing, validation, and certification of network designs and configurations.
Required Skills :
Network Architecture : Proven expertise in designing and implementing complex network infrastructures.
Cybersecurity Expertise : Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including risk management, encryption, and secure network design.
DoD Standards Compliance : Familiarity with DoD security requirements and network security protocols.
Leadership : Ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide strategic direction for network architecture initiatives.
Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-solving : Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills to address complex network and security challenges.
Clearance : Active Secret Clearance is required.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 8 years of experience in network architecture, with at least 5 years of experience in designing and securing complex, large-scale networks for defense or government sectors.
Expertise in network technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, SDN, and NFV.
Strong knowledge of network security tools, methodologies, and protocols (e.g., IPSec, VPNs, IDS / IPS, firewalls, NIST, RMF).
Experience with Cloud Architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and network virtualization is a plus.
CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, Security , or similar certifications are highly preferred.
