POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTING CLERK – ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT, Full-Time
LOCATION: Angels Camp, California
STARTING SALARY: $25.56-$30.10 Hourly
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Finance Director, performs general fiscal duties for the MACT Health Board, Inc. finance department. Assists the Finance Director in areas of Fiscal Administrative functions. This position is responsible for processing accounts payable, assisting with payroll processing and maintaining related records. Employee must work in a positive and respectful manner with fellow employees.
The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assigned to do secretarial/clerical administrative support duties in the Fiscal Department.
- Classifying, coding, cross-referencing and filing of fiscal correspondence.
- Review incoming invoices and bills for correctness and verify with authorized purchase orders. Entering and processing payment of invoices and bills.
- Prepares vouchers and related checks for vendors, employees, and Board Members.
- Assists the Finance Director in budget preparation.
- Assists in the expense analysis of budget items on a monthly basis.
- Verifies vendor invoices with bids and purchase orders, and approves for payment.
- Assists in the management of budgets for state and federal funding sources.
- Facilitates and maintains vendor service contract and leases within scope of authority and budget limitations.
- Must adhere to the MACT Health Board, Inc. Corporate Code of Conduct.
- Comply with all MACT policy and procedure at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 2 year (AA) degree and 2 years verifiable work experience in accounts payable/payroll OR must have 4 years verifiable work history in accounts payable/payroll in a government environment.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
1. Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
2. Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
3. Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
4. Knowledge of and skill in operating computer spreadsheets and computer accounting systems.
5. Ability to work positively under deadline pressure.
DESIRED ABILITIES
- Knowledge of fiscal operations and fund accounting.
- Knowledge of the various policies, procedures, and guidelines of the MACT Health Board, Inc. relative to fiscal.
- Knowledge of Bank Reconciliations and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Knowledge of payroll tax preparation and methods of payments.
- Skill in performing a variety of tasks related to reconciliations, account analysis, and payroll preparation.
