What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Steel Detailer/ Draftsman position at Macuch Steel Products, Inc.?
- Prepare shop drawings (Definition of shop drawing: drawing of each part required of the structural steel. This drawing will be used by the steel fabricator and includes, but is not limited to, member size, length, notches, position & holes diameter, welds and bolts).
- Read Structural & Architectural design drawings; use this information to create 3D model in SDS2. Draw erection plans, elevations & sections for field use.
- Draw details and sub materials for fabrication. Coordinate job requirements with project managers and subcontractors.

- Ability to work fulltime in Augusta Office
- SDS2 Experience
- Ability to see in 3D
- Advanced math skills
- Knowledge of industry standards- AISC manual, Code of Std Practice, Spec, AWS symbols & proper application of all of the aforementioned.
- Knowledge of construction means and methods & procedures for shop and field applications.
- Speak, read & write in English
- Able to prepare shop drawings, final stage before fabrication
- Capacity to be team-oriented
- Diligent and Responsible
- Ability to ask questions for clarification and understanding
