Description : SUMMARY
The Engineering Intern will play a key role in contributing to Macurco’s development of new products and support of existing products. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in driving the technical strategies of the Engineering Department utilizing system engineering processes. Responsibilities will also include supporting product’s electrical research and development projects through testing and analyzing manufacturability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects, records, and evaluates data to drive production improvements.
- Evaluates processes related to time, cost reduction and inventory control.
- Assists with quality control inspections and tests.
- Assists with product transition plan from engineering to production.
- Creation of technical documentation including test plans, test results and work instructions.
- Assists in electronics and firmware / software testing.
- Evaluates and adopts new test methodologies to improve efficiency.
- Uses Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to analyze and solve problems.
- Performs and analyzes routine to moderately complex engineering functions, quality control functions, and specifications to achieve efficient, cost effective and reliable manufacturing or measuring processes, applying mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.
- Assists in the design and project / process management of new and current products, programs, components, tools and acceptance equipment under technical guidance of higher level Engineers or departmental management.
- Develops manufacturing and measuring methods which designate tooling, gages, acceptance equipment, and processing procedures.
- Provides technical assistance in appropriate manufacturing and inspection areas.
- Prepares product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, and test equipment designs.
- Interacts with internal departments to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for improvements for products and test equipment.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
