PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Mad River Community Hospital (MRCH) Training Center for American Heart Association is hiring instructors who will deliver high-quality instruction for BLS, ACLS, PALS, or perhaps related courses. This position will also involve the following: being responsive to the Training Site Coordinator, the Coordinator of Quality and Staff Development, and the CNO as needed; professional conduct, including following related MRCH policies; and accurate time keeping. This is a part-time Per Diem position for a paramedic (BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS), nurse (BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS), or EMT (BLS).
Specific duties include the following:
- Retains provider and instructor status for the American Heart Association (AHA) course(s) taught.
- Sets up and takes down classroom, including cleaning of supplies as appropriate.
- Maintains availability to teach at the MRCH Training Center periodically.
- Teaches high-caliber courses according to AHA guidelines, standards, and teaching materials.
- Completes student and instructor paperwork following each AHA class.
- Helps with hospital code blue and code white drills, as suitable.
- As appropriate and as available, assists with other duties when requested.
- Works directly with the Training Site Coordinator.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Current license as a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS Provider and Instructor Certification.
- Must meet the required elements of the essential job functions.
