Mad River Community Hospital is searching for experienced, compassionate Psychiatric Nurses to provide direct patient care supported by a patient care team. Prior nursing experience in a mental health setting is required. Day and NOC shifts are available.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current California RN license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certification required; PMH-BC desirable
• Patient care experience in a mental health setting is required; experience in an acute care hospital desirable
• Understanding of psychiatric conditions and treatments
• Strong decision making and professional judgement
• Compassion and empathy for patients
• Ability to develop relationships and trust from patients and their families
• Ability to work as part of a team

Wages are based on previous experience.

In addition to acute care and surgical services, the hospital provides emergency services. The hospital operates several outpatient clinics, including surgery, orthopedic, occupational health, pain management, wound care, behavioral health, three primary care clinics, and two physical therapy/sports rehabilitation clinics in Arcata and Willow Creek. There is a 2-acre on-site farm that provides our cafeteria with produce for serving patients and staff.
