At Mad Science, we’re passionate about delivering excellent Children’s STEM programming in the Milwaukee, Northern Illinois and Detroit markets. We realize we wouldn’t be a leader in our field without our successful Operations Team. We are currently looking to expand our Operations team and add two Sales and Service specialists.
A "Sales and Service Specialist" is a hybrid role combining elements of sales and customer service, where the primary responsibility is to engage with customers, understand their needs, recommend suitable services, while also providing support and resolving any issues they may have throughout the sales process and beyond.
We’re seeking a quick learner who has strong listening and negotiating skills as well as an ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with prospective clients mainly through the phone and less frequently through Zoom, and in-person meetings.
- Present and explain our products or services effectively.
- Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients.
- Collaborate with the entire Operations team to develop strategies for closing deals.
- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in sales, customer service, or related field.
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the company and its products, research consumer needs, and identify how our solutions can address those needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Generate leads and grow existing relationships by maintaining an accurate, detailed client book for an active, repeat customer base
- Make cold calls or perform warm outreach, using outside-the-box thinking to develop new and unique sales tactics
- The position is NOT remote and requires periodic local travel
- An added bonus would be experience in a camp, school or childcare setting.
- Must have valid driver's license and personal vehicle
- Must pass background check

Pay Scale:
- $18 - $20 per hour; with bonuses the target pay is up to $24 per hour
