Mad Science and/or Art After School Instructor-Performer Northern CT and Western/Central Massachusetts. Do you have what it takes to be a Mad Scientist or Art Creativity Specialist?! Part-time positions available IMMEDIATELY as Instructors/Performers for After-School programs and/or birthday parties/events in the Southern, Western and Eastern Hartford suburbs and Western/Central Massachusetts. Science and/or art background are helpful, but not required. We are the Western New England branch of Mad Science and Crayola Imagine Arts Academy (formerly ART-ventures for Kids and Let's Gogh Art), leading providers of fun and educational STEAM programs for kids worldwide. You will conduct fun, exciting, educational, hands-on activities with kids ages 4-11. All of our programs provide a mix of education, entertainment and discovery and creativity. Programs are conducted in area schools as after-school programs and in-class curriculum enhancement workshops during the school year. There is also the potential to perform at birthday parties on weekends and in stage shows at festivals, schools, pre-schools, company events and other locations, as well as in camps during the summer months. Job Requirements: Experience teaching, as counselor, group leader, volunteering and/or performing for of young children, typically in groups of 15-20 kids. Ability to demonstrate and facilitate activities. Should have an out-going, fun-loving, and energetic personality. Theatre/performance experience desirable for stage shows and helpful for all events. Must be available weekdays at least 3 days/week (after 2 pm) for after-school programs and/or some weekend days or birthday parties. Strong sense of commitment, dedication and reliability is mandatory. Must also have a reliable car and be willing to travel to multiple locations throughout the region (paid travel costs). We offer highly competitive pay rates $45-50 per class, more for events/parties, and $65--90 per half day for camps) based on a typical 1-2 hour session, fully paid training & orientation.
