You will be an inspiration to the next generation of scientists and engineers through our innovative activities that showcase the wonders of science. Our goal is to make science accessible and engaging for kids, creating a lifelong impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe a seasoned instructor and participate in orientation and training before leading your program.
- E nsure the safety and well-being of the children during programs.
- Engage with the children during activities and experiments, focusing on hands-on learning experiences rather than lectures.
- Lift and transport equipment as needed, ensuring you have a reliable vehicle capable of accommodating the gear.
- Drive to and from programs using your own vehicle.
Schedule and Compensation:
- After-school programs last 1.5 hours and typically begin between 3-4 pm.
- You will lead 2 programs per week, with opportunities to work more days if available.
- Compensation includes $40 per program and mileage reimbursement for trips over 25 miles round trip.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children.
- A reliable car and valid driver's license.
- Comfortability undergoing a background check.
- Age 18 or older.
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination.
- A background in science or performing arts is highly desirable.
