Trainers at MAD are known for being the best in the industry. Rather than yelling motivational phrases into a microphone, you provide 1:1 movement correction. Instead of cheering on clients to get one more rep, you teach them to move with proper form and lift heavy.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must have an accredited training certification (StrongFirst Kettlebell Level 1, BioForce Conditioning, USA Weightlifting, CrossFit Level 1, NASM, ACE, ISSA, etc.)
- Must be CPR certified
- Must have the physical strength and cardiovascular endurance to pass a rigorous fitness test out
- Quality movement patterns and natural athleticism
- Excellent interpersonal skills- can talk to a wall!
- Infectious energy that commands a room of 25 clients, whether it is 5:30am or 6:30pm!
- Always striving to get better and learn more by being coachable and open to feedback
- Weekend availability required
- Ability to travel to Charlotte, NC for a 2-day mid-week training camp

As the Lead Trainer, you will be the face of the gym and the driver of the customer experience. With a strong training and athletic background, the Lead Trainer not only delivers exceptional classes but also leads the training staff by example, setting the standard for professionalism, skill, and enthusiasm. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership and Staff Development
- Serve as the primary mentor for all trainers, setting the bar for excellence in both class delivery and client engagement.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new trainers, ensuring they are fully prepared to meet MADabolic’s standards.
- Provide ongoing, actionable feedback to trainers using the Trainer Report Card system to promote growth and development.
- Act as the go-to resource for trainers’ movement-related questions, providing clear, constructive guidance.
- Lead by example with the largest class load among trainers, consistently demonstrating professionalism, energy, and expertise.
- Practice what you preach by training at MAD 4x every week
Class Instruction
- Teach 10-15 classes per week, maintaining the highest level of quality and consistency in instruction.
- Deliver engaging, safe, and results-oriented workouts that align with MADabolic’s programming and philosophy.
- Build strong relationships with clients during classes, creating a welcoming and motivating environment.
Client Engagement & Retention
- Proactively engage with members to foster a sense of community and loyalty.
- Run approved movement clinics to educate and empower clients, enhancing their workout experience.
- Oversee client retention efforts by monitoring attendance patterns, engaging at-risk members, and ensuring all clients feel valued.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with management to align training staff and client experience with the gym’s overall goals and values.
- Adhere to and enforce all expectations outlined in the location’s Employee Handbook.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional gym environment to ensure a best-in-class member experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 25 per week
