What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program and Fund Development Director - Atlanta Metro Area position at MADD Career Center?
This position is responsible for leading the fundraising, program development, and volunteer capacity-building initiatives at a senior level. The Director will oversee large-scale fundraising campaigns, strategic partnerships, high-level donor relations, and corporate sponsorships. The Director will have direct supervision of staff involved in fundraising, program implementation and volunteer engagement. They will also play a key role in expanding MADD's presence and influence within communities, fostering a culture of philanthropy and mission-driven program expansion.
This is an in-office position, the incumbent must reside in the Metro Atlanta area of Georgia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program and fundraising strategy aligned with MADD’s long-term mission and goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations. Design and execute major giving campaigns.
- Develop strategic alliances with corporations, government entities, and community organizations to drive funding and advocacy initiatives.
- Establish and oversee the development of State Advisory Boards, high-impact volunteers, and leadership committees to strengthen program outreach and fundraising efforts.
- Oversee the research, writing, and administration of grant proposals to secure funding for key programs and initiatives.
- Lead large-scale fundraising events, ensuring efficiency, branding compliance, and sponsorship fulfillment. Develop marketing and promotional strategies to enhance event visibility.
- Manage program and fundraising budgets, track revenue goals, and ensure financial compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
- Represent MADD in public speaking engagements, media interviews, and community advocacy efforts to elevate awareness and support.
- Supervise and mentor staff and volunteers engaged in fundraising, program execution, and mission-related initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 7 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, strategic program development, and donor relations at a leadership level.
- Demonstrated track record in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
- Experience in managing large-scale events, strategic partnerships, and volunteer-led initiatives.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to convey MADD’s mission to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in donor management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
- Ability to travel (within a 2 state area), work a flexible schedule, and respond to mission-critical situations.
- Demonstrated commitment, passion and compassion for the mission of MADD.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, vision and management to the respective area of supervision.
- Must be able to develop long and short-term strategies to achieve the vision and communicate appropriately to inspire support and action.
