Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a CNC Programmer for a long-term role with a plastics manufacturer located in Tigard, OR. The person in this position will implement, control, and improve machining process while collaborating with operators, engineers, designs, and drafters. This position allows for the choice of day shift, swing shift, or weekend shift.
Pay: $32-$40/hr
CNC Programmer Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions and process definitions in a MRP II and ISO 9000 environment.
- Work with CAM/CNC operators in the development of part drawings and part programs.
- Work with Production personnel and Manufacturing Engineering to improve quality, yield and productivity.
- Work with CNC operators to assure optimal operability of machine tools and equipment.
- Write and develop CNC programs from geometry and hardcopy engineering drawings.
- Convert CAD files, generate part drawings and analyze part geometry while working in CAM program.
- Create tool paths, NC codes and set-up sheet in CAM program.
- Complete documentation, as necessary, for programming.
- Provide mentorship to other Programmers and Machinists.
- Perform new employee orientation including requirements and processes.
- Scheduling individual areas.
- Liaison with Machining Manager on team personnel issues.
CNC Programmer Qualifications:
- Requires an AA Degree in Automated Manufacturing or related manufacturing degree, CNC Programming.
- Demonstrated ability to perform machining (manual and/or CNC).
- Plastics industry background preferred.
- 4 years experience in CNC programming and manufacturing.
- Must be able to work with operators in the design and manufacturing of fixtures and tooling.
- Ability to troubleshoot both machining and programming issues.
- Able to work within the MS Office suite environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD, reading blueprints and Bill of Materials.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand machine codes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate tooling speeds and feeds for various materials.
- Able to use and read precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
- Available to work one of the following schedules (your selection): MON-FRI7AM-3:30PM, MON-FRI 2:15PM-10:45PM, or FRI-SUN, 5AM-5:30PM.
