What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Millwright position at Madden Industrial Craftsmen Inc?
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright to lead our maintenance team in the design, fabrication, installation, service, repair, and certification of sawmill machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, removal, and maintenance of sawmill material conveying systems according to manufacturer specifications and company standards
- Test and certify repairs for restart
- Support preventative maintenance programs
- Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts
- Clean and lubricate machinery components
- Operate cutting torches and welding equipment
- Communicate effectively with coworkers during breakdowns
- Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space protocols
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in sawmill design and structure is preferred
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC software is a plus
- Safety certifications, including LOTO and OSHA codes
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Facility Layout
- Ability to handle various tools and mechanical systems
- Certified welding skills
- Advanced math skills and troubleshooting abilities
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, and using hands to handle objects
- Occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing
- Regular lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
