This position requires considerable use of arms and legs. This position also requires frequent movement of the whole body such as lifting up to 50 lbs along with balancing and handling of material.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install equipment: Millwrights transport equipment to job sites and assemble it.
Maintain equipment: Millwrights perform regular inspections, lubrication, and fine-tuning to prevent issues.
Repair equipment: Millwrights take machines apart and put them back together to fix them.
Troubleshoot issues: Millwrights analyze equipment malfunctions and develop solutions to minimize downtime.
Create maintenance plans: Millwrights develop plans to keep equipment running efficiently.
Read blueprints: Millwrights interpret blueprints and schematics to determine how to install, repair, and maintain equipment.
Test equipment: Millwrights conduct tests to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Set machine tolerances: Millwrights set benchmarks for machine tolerances to ensure the longevity of machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical skills: Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
Blueprint reading: The ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Physical ability: The ability to handle tools, machines, and heavy equipment
Communication: Good communication skills to work independently and ensure coworkers are aware of problems
Certifications: A journeyman's license or other certifications may be advantageous
