What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent - Resort Grounds position at Madden's on Gull Lake?

Maddens is currently seeking a full time Assistant Superintendent Resort Grounds who will prioritize merchandising strategies and tactics that are aligned with Maddens Standards selling plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the resort grounds maintenance operations to include all horticulture and grounds.
- This will include all landscaping, both hand and softscapes
- All flower (annual and perennial) beds, mulch beds, and pots
- All lawns, including signature lawns for events, weddings, childrens area, and more.
- And all beach and sand maintenance
- Supervises all staff on the resort grounds, mowers, detailer, recycler, foreman, project landscaper, head of horticulture and assistant horticulturalists

Responsible for overseeing the Grounds Foreman and Horticulturist in the following duties:
- Operation of Toro utility vehicles.
- Observe and report any landscape issues or needs to the Horticulturist.
- Responsible for spring grounds clean up from winter melt and mulching of landscape beds in cooperation with the horticultural staff and resort grounds staff.
- Fertilization and broadleaf weed control of all turf grass areas.

Maintenance and improvement of all resort grounds irrigation systems with the goal of no water on structures and implementation of drip irrigation where possible.
- This includes proper usage of water amounts, diagnosis of pump issues, and creative solutions to keeping grass from dying in season.
- Plan and oversee the weekly mowing of all turf grass areas. Twice weekly in high profile and high growth areas. To include croquet lawn, lawn bowling lawn and owners homes.
- Utilize chemical edging wherever possible to reduce hand trimming.
- Complete the scheduling of work for the grounds crew to include having grounds crew assist horticulture team in the watering of flowerbeds.
- Maintenance of all swimming beaches, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits.
- Installation and maintenance of designated docks.
- Detailing of resort grounds on a daily basis to include all hard surfaces, entrances and landscaped and turf grass areas.
- Tree removal and clean up.
- Minor repair and maintenance of parking lots and parking stops.
- Fall preparation for winterization of grounds and irrigation system.
- Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Golf and Grounds Superintendent.
- Sufficient in technology enough to interview and on-board new staffing members
- Sufficient in all Microsoft software (excel, word, etc.) to plan projects, record keep, and any other tasks assigned
- Able to coordinate smaller projects including planning, calling, organizing, ordering materials, and executing the project plan.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance and assures that work under your supervision is also done in a safe and workmanlike manner.

Education/Experience:
Minimum of 4 years experience of previous property ground maintenance management. High School Diploma. Non-Commercial pesticide license or ability to acquire the licensure within 6 months of hire.
