- Describe how you CAN help There isnt anything worse than hearing someone say, I cant do that. its not my job! There is always some action you can take to help them.
- Say, Thank You. Final impressions are just as important as first impressions. Strive to leave the guest feeling appreciated and pleased they chose to do business with you.
- Greet guests with a warm and sincere welcome. Deliver a professional and appropriate presentation of the 1st Tee Opening Statement.
- Extensive knowledge of Maddens on Gull Lake, Brainerd area, including but not limited to resort dining options, amenities, all golf courses, and directions.
- Knowledge of the rules and terminology of the game of golf. MUST KNOW basic rules: Out of Bounds, Penalty Areas, Obstructions, Loose Impediments, Lost Ball, Ball Unplayable. Ability to advise golfers of proper playing procedures. Ability to develop and maintain effective public relations (sometimes under adverse conditions).
- Replace sand and seed on carts and on course 5,7,14. You are responsible for notifying the golf shop when sand and seed supply is low.
- Introduce themselves within the first four holes and thank within the last four holes.
- Do not assume that golfers can see you; make sure that you are visible.
- Monitor pin locations and notify golf shops.
- Fix ball marks, replace divots, and sweep off greens.
- Pick up all garbage; you should never just drive past.
- Make sure penalty area stakes are in place and visible, replace if necessary.
- While monitoring course rake bunkers and lining up rakes a 90 degree angle to the low edge of the bunkers with 6-12 of the handle outside of the lip of the bunker.
- Check the cleanliness of bathrooms twice per shift; replace light bulbs, restock toiletries, maintain cleanliness of toilet, sinks, floors, walls, ledges etc.
- Make sure the course host cart is always stocked with first aid kit.
- Assist outside service when needed.
- Uphold customer service standards.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent listening, speaking, and communication skills.
- Great decision-making skills.
- Must be able to work alongside other people and independently.
- The ability to establish and maintain relationships with guests and members is crucial.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma/GED preferred. 1 Year of golf work experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Work is performed outside on the golf course.
Physical Demands:
Primarily walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift golf bags sometimes repeatedly.
Expected Hours of Work:
Variable work schedule with weekends included.
Travel:
Less than 10% travel required.
