Madden's is an award-winning resort, located on more than 1,000 acres, that anticipates the wishes and desires of vacationers and offers them fantastic golf, upscale dining, lakeside spa, tennis, activity programs for children, biking, shopping, and art gallery with painting classes and almost every kind of on-the-water recreation possible in Minnesota, including fishing. Maddens is currently seeking Seasonal Recreation Attendants. This position will perform all recreation duties and activities regarding Maddens operations to include daily activity programs, holiday, special events, and conference activities.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department programs, events, and activities. Answers guest questions regarding such programs.
- Implementation of programs, special events, and conference recreation events (such as scavenger hunts and team building programs) along with all Adventure Cover programs.
- Understanding of operating procedures for ALL recreation areas from rentals, safety protocols, and interactions with guests, including Adventure Cove.
- Maintains cleanliness of the recreation areas, Tennis and Croquet areas, Marina, Adventure Cove, game rooms, and any other locations that Recreation Director requests.
- Records all cash, check, and charges based on established cash control procedures.
- Completes checklist for opening, closing, and daily procedures.
- Provides safe environment within facilities and activities.
- Processes recreation passes as needed.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Advanced reading, math, and computer skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
- Knowledge of the Brainerd Lakes area is preferred.
- Must be able to keep a calm, professional manner under stressful situations.
- Maintains a proactive Can Do attitude.
Education/Experience:
Certificate from college, technical school or accredited facility; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Work is performed mainly at our Recreation Building, both inside and outside.
Physical Demands:
Primarily stationery such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50-pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly. Ability to participate in physical activities for prolonged periods.
Expected Hours of Work:
Varying work schedule during summer months including weekends.
Travel:
Less than 10% travel required.
