Maddens is currently seeking Watersport Instructors who will supervise guests and employees with Ski Instruction, Wakeboarding instruction, Wake surfing instruction and water taxi rides while enforcing all water safety policies and procedures.
- Supervises all guests and employees while on company watercraft at all times to ensure their safety.
- Administers first aid to minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises of those who may require it.
- Assists in organizing ski instruction and other lessons for guests and employees as directed by department manager.
- Maintains cleanliness of Maddens operations according to established daily maintenance procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department programs, events, and activities. Answers guest questions regarding such programs.
- Records all cash, check, and charges based on established cash control procedures.
- Maintains understanding of operating procedures for tennis, croquet, lawn bowling, bikes, boats, and rental equipment.
- Completes checklist for opening, closing, and daily procedures.
- Takes direction from Recreation Director.
- Assists in the implementation of programs, special events, and conference recreation events, such as scavenger hunts and team building programs.
- Provides safe environment within facilities and activities.
- Processes recreation passes as needed.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Maintains the water park and ensures that it is functional at all times.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
- Knowledge of the Brainerd Lakes area is preferred.
- Must be able to keep a calm, professional manner under stressful situations.
- Maintains a proactive Can Do attitude.
Education/Experience:
Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Work is performed mainly in the water or on boats.
Physical Demands:
Primarily stationery such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50-pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly. Ability to participate in physical activities for prolonged periods.
Expected Hours of Work:
Varying work schedule during summer months including nights and weekends.
Travel:
Less than 10% travel required.
