Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, professional, and knowledgeable Basketball Sport Performance Coach to join our team at MADE Student Athletics, a growing fitness and sport performance training company. As a Sport Performance Coach, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients success by designing and implementing training programs, workouts, drills, and educational activities to help them achieve their goals on and off the playing field. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of soccer-specific training methodologies and possess a passion for helping athletes improve their performance. Additionally, this candidate will have a passion for youth, fitness, and healthy living for people of all ages. Your ability to lead, work within a team, and dedication to maintaining a positive and productive work environment will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Interactions
- Greet and assist clients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist clients with scheduling appointments and managing bookings.
- Answer inquiries and provide information about our programs and services
Coaching:
- Conduct small and large group training sessions as assigned by director.
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to athletes to optimize their skill development and performance.
- Contribute to fostering a positive and motivating training environment that inspires athletes to excel and achieve their goals.
Programming:
- Conduct fitness and performance assessments to evaluate athletes' strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for athletes, focusing on improving performance, strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
- Utilize sport-specific drills, exercises, and techniques to enhance players' technical skills, tactical awareness, and game intelligence.
Mentoring:
- Conduct educational activities and lessons in small and large group settings as assigned by director
- Provide guidance, advice, feedback, and support for clients as it relates to their overall development, and achievement of goals and objectives.
- Serve as a role model, advocate, and ally for clients as needed in support of their achievement of goals and objectives
Teamwork:
- Attend monthly team meetings to stay current with the latest research and developments in training, sports science, and performance enhancement strategies.
- Collaborate with other coaches and support staff to integrate and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning, nutrition, education and recovery strategies into training programs.
- Contribute to the growth of the company brand and mission through the implementation of strategies for growth and development as directed.
Marketing/Sales:
- Contribute to the creation of social media and marketing content as assigned by director.
- Implement in-person and internal marketing strategies.
- Follow the sales process for converting new prospects into clients
Facility and Equipment Maintenance:
- Help maintain a safe and clean environment for day-to-day activities
- Perform regular cleaning task and equipment checks
- Assist with the set-up and takedown of various equipment and facilities in preparation or conclusion of training activities and events.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. (required)
- College graduate or currently studying towards Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or similar field (required)
- High School and/or Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience in specific sport (required)
- Certified or currently working towards personal trainer certification through NASM, NSCA or equivalent certifying agency (required)
- Ability to interact with students of different age and skill levels in a positive and professional manner.
- Effective communication and language skills necessary
- SPC staff must be proficient with strength and conditioning instruction.
- CPR & First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Experience playing/coaching a variety of sports (preferred)
