Position Summary :
The Admissions Specialist greets and interviews patients upon arrival to the hospital or by phone to obtain correct demographic, guarantor, and financial information to properly register or admit the patient. Will verify insurance benefits through on-line insurance verification systems or via phone calls. Will collect payments including insurance co-pays and deductibles. Will document all information in data system. Will answer telephone inquiries. Will provide excellent guest relations by providing requested information to families, hospital departments, and medical staff.
Qualifications :
Prefer high school graduate or equivalent. Prefer medical office technology course work, including completion of medical terminology class or medical office background. Prefer minimum two years hospital or medical office background with basic credit and collections skills. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
