Job Summary:
The Business Manager plays a vital leadership role in the dealership’s Finance & Insurance operations, responsible for securing financing, presenting value-added products, and ensuring complete and compliant deal processing. This role serves as a bridge between the sales, finance, and accounting teams to deliver a seamless and professional customer experience while supporting the financial performance of the dealership.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience & Sales Support
- Collaborate with the sales team to transition customers to F&I smoothly and professionally.
- Present financing options and protect-the-vehicle products in a transparent, value-driven manner.
- Build trust with customers while maximizing product penetration and dealership profitability.
Finance & Insurance Operations
- Submit deals to lenders and ensure timely funding with all necessary supporting documents.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork for contracts, DMV, titling, and funding.
- Sell extended warranties, GAP, maintenance packages, and other aftermarket products.
- Secure competitive financing through approved lenders, matching terms to customer needs and credit profiles.
Compliance & Documentation
- Protect confidential customer information and uphold data privacy protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all lender programs, dealership policies, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure every transaction is completed in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including but not limited to Red Flags, OFAC, and Truth in Lending.
Leadership & Performance Tracking
- Assist in resolving deal issues, rewrites, or re-contracting as needed.
- Monitor and report on F&I performance metrics, including product penetration and finance reserve.
- Help train and support sales staff on F&I procedures and compliance basics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in automotive finance, sales, or business management.
- Knowledge of lending institutions, lease/finance structures, and F&I product offerings.
- Strong verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and multitasking ability.
- Proficient in dealership DMS systems (Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, etc.) and electronic contracting tools.
- Strong working knowledge of automotive compliance and consumer finance regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Office-based within the dealership with high customer and team interaction.
- Performance-based compensation including commission, bonuses, and incentives.
