Position Summary :
The Director of Information Technology position oversees the operations of Information Technology (IT) and Information Security activities of the organization. This leadership role requires establishing and directing the strategic long-term goals for systems and hardware acquisitions to accomplish the Hospital’s business objectives while ensuring that all information systems are functional and secure. Establishes, plans, evaluates, maintains and administers information systems including the overall policies and procedures. Analyzes needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new or modify information processing systems in order to effectively use clinical and financial information technology solutions to improve healthcare operations. Continually evaluates IT systems and pricing strategies ensuring adherence to budgets, pricing strategies and organization goals. Evaluates risk and directs IT financial initiatives and strategies. Manages the IT budgeting and forecasting processes. This position has budgetary responsibility for Information Systems.
This position is also the Information Security Officer and oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the confidentiality, integrity and availability of and access to information systems, including patient health information, in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization’s information security practices.
Qualifications :
Requires bachelor's degree in a related area with at least 3 to 5 years Information Technology background in health care applications, with implementation and operational experience in clinical, financial, system security and network applications, server technology (physical and virtual) and defining and implementing system interfaces. Prefer experience in a telecommunications to include cable plant management, POTS and VOIP solutions.
