The hours for this position are 5pm-3:30am and the position is located in Louisville, KY.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation of winder and slitter machinery for the production of product conforming to defined quality standards. Assists and trains Operator/Inspectors. Responsible for cleaning and loading evaporative coaters when slitter machine is down.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILITIES:
- Perform work in a safe fashion and adhere to all safety policies and practices.
- Adherence to all rules and regulations for OSHA.
- Complete understanding of rewinder / slitter machine
- Knowledge and understanding of web handling on winders / slitters
- Responsible for properly loading the correct material in the required fashion onto the winder / slitter machinery.
- To be very detail orientated.
- Basic trouble shooting of the process in order to eliminate defects and machine problems
- Defect identification, flagging, recording and communicating.
- Set up of the winder / slitter per the specification for the specific product
- Inspection of raw and coated materials prior to loading of rolls on machine.
- Mounting and removal of master rolls from winders / slitters.
- Basic understanding of coating process and uniformity.
- Clean up and set up for various products, understanding of requirements and processes.
- Inspection and testing of materials for conformance to requirements and specifications.
- Performing and Recording the results of all required quality and product testing.
- Documenting of machine conditions, product roll quality, and productivity.
- Perform start of shift product and machine checklist.
- Working Knowledge of ISO practices and procedures.
- Responsible for the execution of Shop Orders provided through the production Schedule.
- Ability to correspond directly with management regarding production issues and process improvements
- Learn and assist with cleaning evaporative coaters and loading and unloading material.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean up of work area and machinery and uses 5S principles.
- Other work as assigned by supervision.
- Initiative and talent for starting action and performing additional work when primary duties have been accomplished

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Good working knowledge of computer operations
- 1 plus years related experience (preferred)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Attend company provided annual safety training.
- Willing to complete other training as requested
- Must be able to qualify to wear a cartridge respirator.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- Computer operation skills
- Basic math skills
- Basic skills reading measuring devices (tape measure) and test equipment
- Able to be comfortable working with different types of machines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is the work environment, it can be loud. Safety equipment will be required while performing duties
