Our client, a commercial electrical contracting company is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to support our Human Resources team in key areas such as recruiting onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems management. This role is essential in helping manage HR operations for a busy electrical contracting firm, ensuring smooth processes and employee support across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Onboarding
Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
Support new hire onboarding by setting up HRIS profiles, processing eVerify, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
Maintain and update new hire assessment tools for Project Managers/Leads.
Help organize career fairs and recruiting open house events.
HR Systems & Compliance
Maintain and update HRIS systems with employee records, PTO accruals, and benefits enrollment. Assist with compliance tracking for OSHA, unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, and other HR regulations.
Support the employee manual updates and ensure policies are up to date.
Track and organize field certifications, DOT physicals, and PPE inventory for employees working on job sites.
Employee Engagement & Training
Schedule and assist with monthly employee 1:1 review, tracking performance feedback and progress. Coordinate annual company meetings and trainings, including anti-harassment training and safety workshops.
Help manage education and certification tracking for employees, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
Assist in planning employee events such as holiday parties and company newsletters.
Administrative & General HR Support
Prepare weekly payroll attendance & status update sheets.
Assist with 401K/benefits updates and ensure smooth benefits administration.
Update and maintain HR trackers for recruiting, PTO, and employee certifications.
Support social media updates related to recruiting and company culture.
Qualifications & Skills
Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or relevant work experience).
1-3 years of HR experience (internships or HR admin roles are a plus).
Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR or similar).
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, construction-oriented environment
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
