What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intense Intervention Teacher position at Madison Area Educational Special Services Unit?
- Teacher to strengths and weaknesses of each student as outlined in the IEP
- Provide instruction in toilet training, feeding and other self-help skills
- Maintain classroom discipline and management
- Provide instruction in fine and gross motor skills
- Provide opportunities which result in the grown and positive social behavior
- Provide instruction in health and self-care
- Provide basic speech and language development
- Provide instruction in reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
- Provide training in perception and readiness skills
- Assist each student in developing self-expression via art and music
- Monitor students during lunch and recess periods, parties, field trips arrival/departure times, etc.
- Work with other instructional staff, including classroom instructional assistants, families and agencies in formulating an appropriate educational program for the student
