We are now hiring for 2025 Summer Camp Counselors.
Summer Camp dates : June 16th, 2025, through August 22nd, 2025
As a YMCA camp counselor, you will not only impact the life of a child, but also :
Develop leadership skills by supervising campers.
Develop decision making and critical thinking skills while you ensure a safe, fun, and positive camper experience.
Develop and improve your communication, collaboration and creativity skills by providing guidance and innovative activities to campers and with fellow staff.
Develop time management skills while following daily camp schedules.

Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one season of experience working with youth in a camp setting (preferred).
18 years or older.
All Staff will :
Earn a competitive wage.
Attend 40 hours of mandatory training June 9th through June 13st, 2025, to obtain CPR, First-Aid and AED certifications which will be provided through the Madison Area YMCA.
Work up to 40 hours per week, days and times may vary.
Be eligible for a 10 week stay cash incentive.
Working Conditions :
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat in excess of 90F, high humidity, and rain.
Ability to be in water / pool for extended periods of time.
Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, walking, and hiking on uneven surfaces.
Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
Comfortable administering first aid and exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases is possible.
