Overview
We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day strategy, planning, and managing of warehouse inventories and transportation of products. Team member will monitor, maintain, and report on freight statistics/metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Develop transportation relationships with carriers, arranging and negotiating freight services with all shipping vendors and warehouses. Ensure freight partners are meeting customer and Madison Chemical needs by following special instructions and delivering on time.
2. Assess and recommend shipping methods, routes, carriers, and cost competitive solutions. Recommend routes for Madsion trucks.
3. Assist with truckload pickups of empty containers. Manage communication to internal and external team members about empty container pickups that don’t follow MCC terms and conditions.
4. Maintain an accurate and appropriate inventory of remote warehouse materials. This includes par levels, warehouse transfers and reconciliation to Chempax. Make recommendations for product and shipping changes for external warehouses. Monitor inventory turnover and stale products.
5. Monitor and maintain freight patterns and other freight statistics/metrics in Chempax and Freightview. Work with carriers to make billing corrections, as needed. Assess performance and implement improvements.
6. Help reconcile consignment warehouses on a routine basis.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
1. Assure compliance with D.O.T. rules including routine renewals/filings.
2. Assist with Toll Blender setup and transactions.
3. Assist Customer Service with shipping as needed.
EXPECTATION OF TRAVEL:
This role requires minimal travel, with occasional visits to inspect and monitor warehouse operations.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
Logistics Coordinator will have:
· At least a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and relevant job specific training, determined by the Company.
· A valid state-issued driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a company vehicle, adhering to the Madison Chemical Vehicle Policy.
· The Ability to work independently and under pressure.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the employees, management, and customers.
· Must be organized, accountable and self-motivated.
