The Parking Division is seeking to hire a new Parking Enforcement Supervisor. This role involves leading and supporting the daily operations of the Parking Enforcement Unit. The primary objective of the Enforcement Unit is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout the City of Madison. The unit prioritizes excellent customer service while addressing the parking needs of community members, visitors, businesses, and government entities, both public and private.The Supervisor oversees lead workers, enforcement officers, and administrative staff who enforce parking rules and regulations in Madison. The enforcement team collaborates closely with community members and visitors to deliver outstanding customer service regarding their parking concerns. The Supervisor also plays a key role in determining operational methods, schedules, routes, and assignments while ensuring compliance with quality, timeliness, and other work standards.This position is regularly scheduled for 38.75 hours per work. SupervisionDirect and supervise the work of employees involved in various parking enforcement activities.Interview, recommend for hire, train, and evaluate Lead Workers and Parking Enforcement Officers.Plan, direct, schedule, and review the work of assigned staff, both directly and through lead workers.Develop, coordinate, review, and approve staff schedules, work hours, shifts, assignments, and routes.Develop work priorities; coordinate and assign work for field and administrative staff.Monitor assignments for efficiency, quality, and timeliness.Assist with developing, recommending, implementing and overseeing training programs, hiring and onboarding, policies and procedures for Parking Enforcement personnel.Manage employee grievances, disciplinary issues, and performance issues, making effective recommendations to the Parking Enforcement Manager.Oversee daily briefings for staff and prepare related documentation, including making necessary adjustments to schedules and assignments in response to unexpected absences.
