2025-2026 School Year | SPANISH TEACHER - Part-Time Middle School (MYP)
Madison Country Day School, a PreK-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking an MYP Spanish language educator for the 2025-26 school year. The successful applicant will feel comfortable teaching middle school students with emergent, capable, and proficient language levels.
POSITION
Applicants should have a passion for the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures, along with a commitment to advancing both an evolving school and their professional skills. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator, adept at differentiation, who inspires others through optimism, flexibility, and teamwork. Additionally, the candidate should be eager to collaborate with dedicated educators within the MCDS faculty.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL
- Work within a collaborative World Languages department;
- Have knowledge of relevant curriculum tasks, assessments, and activities for language acquisition;
- Have experience with or a willingness to learn the Middle Years Programme (MYP) approach to language acquisition;
- Contribute to the school’s extracurricular offerings and serve as a middle school advisor;
- Have the ability to design and facilitate rigorous, empowering lesson plans that are student-centered and thought-provoking;
- Have intellectual curiosity and a desire to spark a love of language learning in students;
- Have excellent communication skills, a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment;
- Believe in the intrinsic relationship between social-emotional learning and culturally responsive pedagogy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have full eligibility to teach in the US
- Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
- At least 2 years of teaching experience;
- Excellent oral, organizational, and written communication skills;
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate is welcome, but not required.
