2025-26 | Boys Volleyball Coaches: Varsity Head and Assistant (Fall, 2025)
Madison Country Day School is currently seeking a Head and Assistant Coach for its Boys Volleyball team for the Fall 2025 season. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, organized, and character-driven individual who would like to lead and assist lead one of MCDS’s popular and successful athletic programs. Practices are held Mondays through Fridays after school at Madison Country Day School. For years, MCDS has been a co-op member with Edgewood, but is moving forward as a co-op host beginning in the Fall 2025 season.
- Organize and structure appropriate plans for technical instruction: Develop training plans, practice schedules, and competition strategies to enhance the performance of student-athletes.
- Ensure proper supervision and safety: Maintain a safe and supportive environment for student-athletes during practices, competitions, and other team activities. Monitor facilities and equipment usage to ensure safety.
- Assess skill development and physical conditioning: Evaluate the progress and readiness of student-athletes in terms of skill development, physical fitness, and performance. Provide individualized feedback and create opportunities for improvement.
- Effective communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with student-athletes, parents, and community members. Keep them informed about practice schedules, competitions, and any changes or updates. Be approachable and open to addressing concerns or inquiries.
- Positive culture and leadership development: Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Provide leadership opportunities for student-athletes and help them develop their skills on and off the court.
- Support and mentor coaching staff: Collaborate with other coaches on the staff, providing guidance, support, and sharing best practices. Foster a collaborative and supportive coaching environment.
- Collaboration with Athletic Director: Work closely with the Athletic Director to align coaching strategies with the overall vision and goals of the athletic program. Contribute to program development and growth initiatives.
- Highly motivated and organized: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Character-driven: Emphasize character development, integrity, and sportsmanship in coaching practices and interactions with student-athletes.
- Coaching experience: Previous experience as a head coach or assistant coach in volleyball is beneficial. Experience with program development and athlete progression is a plus.
- Strong communication skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and engage with various stakeholders.
- Commitment to safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of student-athletes, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and protocols. First Aid, CPR/AED Certification (ability to obtain here or on your own)
- Collaboration and leadership: Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, staff members, and the Athletic Director. Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes and coaching staff.
