Job Overview:
An Abstractor is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing various types of complex data, documents, and legal records that pertain to real estate. The primary role involves extracting key information from these legal records and preparing concise, accurate abstracts that highlight critical details. This position requires strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of industry-specific terminology, and excellent organizational skills. The role will also be our front office personnel, so ability to work with the public & provide prompt, professional, and courteous service is required rather it be in person or over the phone.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review and analyze complex documents of public record (This may include Deeds, Mortgages, Dissolution of Marriage Records, Foreclosure Records, and/or others).
· Summarize key points and information pertinent to real estate title.
· Maintain accuracy and consistency in all abstracted data, ensuring alignment with company, industry, and government standards.
· Collaboration with internal & external partners (Attorneys, Real Estate Agents, Lenders, Abstractors).
· Conducting Quality checks to ensure that abstracted data is accurate.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
· Answering the phones and handling walk-ins with prompt, professional and courteous service.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in being detail oriented required, experience in real estate profession preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and various other applications
· Knowledge of the real estate industry preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a fully in-person position, requiring you to work in an office setting. In addition, we have local customers that we consistently make deliveries to on foot. No deliveries are expected of you that may require use of a vehicle.
Compensation:
$17.00-$19.00/hour beginning rate, with raises expected each year dependent on performance. Full-time employees qualify for a Simple IRA plan and include a 3% employer match. Annual bonuses are given dependent on company and employee performance each year.
