Summary of Position
Performs various tasks associated with preparedness and response programs of Madison County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), community preparedness outreach, and grant objectives under direction of Emergency Preparedness Director.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
1. Recruit and maintain a database of volunteers from the medical and non-medical community.
2. Utilize and maintain multiple databases including CEMP, IL HELPS, One Call Now, SIREN, D4H, National MRC website.
3. Develop and present training to employees, volunteers, community on emergency response and safety topics.
4. Develops MRC newsletter, press releases, handbooks, Just-in-Time training and manuals.
5. Monitors credentialing and verification of volunteer qualifications.
6. Plans, designs, and executes emergency response drills and desktop exercises, and evaluates the efficacy of the drills and exercises.
7. Engage and correspond with community preparedness partners (i.e. CMS providers and closed PODs).
8. Attend local, regional, and state trainings and meetings.
9. Assist Director with medical countermeasure trainings and community reception center trainings.
10. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in emergency management, community health, education or a related field. Combination of education and two (2) years experience in activities involving community engagement and planning. Must complete any and all prescribes certifications and/or courses relevant to the position. A valid drivers license is also required.
Physical Requirements
The employee may be required to walk or move up to 200 feet from primary desk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
