Summary of Position:
Researches and maintains records and map files of property/parcel transfers, changes, etc. of properties located within the County.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reviews approves/rejects deeds for compliance to State Statutes and the Plat Act.
2. Performs verification of property with municipal boundaries and/or within 1.5 miles of a municipal boundary.
3. Assigns parcel identification numbers, records name changes and verifies tax identification numbers, makes appropriate changes in existing files/records and maps, reproduces maps, verifies all metes and bounds legal descriptions.
4. Processes changes and transfers of real estate property.
5. Researches, receives and refers information to customers, property owners, contractors, abstracters, realtors, etc.; provides updated maps and overlays for Township Assessors as requested or required.
6. Assists in training customers on office equipment and computer workstations.
7. Updates and maintains computerized/non-computerized files.
8. Researches tax deeds, death certificates and miscellaneous affidavits.
9. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years related experience are required.
Physical Requirements:
Sit for extended periods of time. The employee is required to walk or move up to 200 feet from primary desk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
