Title: Financial Reporting Specialist (Broker Dealer)
Office Status: Hybrid 1 to 2 day in office in Jersey City
Salary: Up to $120,000 Bonus
A midsize global investment bank is looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist. This position will be a new addition to the accounting team to assist and support the team with month-end close, on-going business as usual deliverables, and CUSO level driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end close deliverables - including recording of journal entries, preparation of all supporting schedules including balance sheet reconciliations, balance sheet and revenue / expenses variance analysis.
- Ensure financial statements are presented accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
- Assists in preparation and review of various internal management reports, external reporting, and year-end audited financial statements.
- Assist with interim/annual audit processes with internal and external auditors.
- Work closely with Product Control, Regulatory Reporting, and Planning teams to provide excellent internal customer service.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of accounting policies, processes and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to internal control processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of financial reporting, general accounting practices including U.S. GAAP.
- Self-starter, proactive, takes initiative and ownership of work product.
- Ability to work independently, results driven, and able to collaborate with a team.
- Proven history of process improvements and efficiencies gained.
- Strong Microsoft office skills.
- Min 7 years of experience in financial service industry.
- Bachelor of Business Administration (with concentration in Accounting) or Accounting Degree.
- CPA preferred but not required.
