Overview
The Vice President (VP), Corporate Banking Relationship Manager will support the Team Lead and senior management in business development, client relationship management, and portfolio oversight for syndicated loans, bilateral loans, and commercial mortgage loans. This role is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, managing existing client relationships, and ensuring adherence to risk policies and compliance requirements. Additionally, the VP will play a critical role in mentoring junior team members and aligning business growth with the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management & Business Development
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for corporate banking clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial and non-financial data to assess client creditworthiness, structure loan solutions, and prepare underwriting analyses.
- Conduct due diligence and prepare detailed credit proposals for review and approval.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Credit Risk Management, to structure and negotiate loan products that align with client needs and risk policies.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the organization’s full suite of financial products and services.
- Participate in industry networking events and promotional campaigns to expand the corporate banking portfolio.
Portfolio & Post-Lending Management
- Oversee a portfolio of syndicated, bilateral, and commercial mortgage loans, ensuring proactive risk management and compliance with credit policies.
- Monitor loan performance, track key financial indicators, and identify early warning signs of potential credit risk.
- Ensure proper execution of loan documentation, reviewing agreements for completeness and compliance.
- Manage loan renewals, address loan exceptions, and implement solutions to mitigate risk.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on credit analysis and portfolio management best practices.
