What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk Associate position at Madison Eye Care Center, LLC?
The front desk administrative position has the responsibility to manage appointments, phones, incoming patient referrals, verification of insurance for new patients and triage of problems. This position has team support from another team member in the immediate area, as well as clinical and management support. The team member must be friendly, reliable, professional and able to multitask. He/she must be able to work/learn new software, work with multiple phone lines and fax/email. Must be reliable in arriving early enough to open the front office prior to 7:50 am patient arrival time and be motivated to present the best care possible from the first interaction with the patient.
Office hours are Mon-Thurs 7:50 am-5pm Friday 7:50 am-1pm No weekend hours
Pay dependent on experience and applicable skills
EXPERIENCE/RESPONSIBILITES:
- Providing excellent customer service while checking patients in for appointments, verifying patient data and updating information as needed.
- Scheduling appointments, both over the phone and in person (requires the ability to collect detailed information accurately)
- Verifying insurance benefits and eligibility
- Answering multi-line phone system
- Triage of medical eye problems
- Assisting with the general flow of patient data and patient product orders
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient health information
- Must be computer proficient
- Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Greeting of patients prior to their appointment
- Must be able to work independently and as a team
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with the public in a customer service industry, professional office or healthcare setting
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients and others on the phone
- Ability to follow office guidelines of care and customer service
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including multi-line telephone, computer with various software packages, and fax machine
