What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homeowner Property Claims Adjuster position at Madison Mutual Insurance Company?
Madison Mutual Insurance Company is currently seeking a positive and professional individual for the position of Homeowner Property Claims Adjuster.
This is a field job that will require travel by Company vehicle throughout the state of Missouri.
Under minimal supervision, the Homeowner Property Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and resolves property claims involving damage of moderate to complex exposure on Home, Farm and Commercial policies. Potential travel to neighboring states to offer claims support.
- A four-year college degree or equivalent job-related experience is preferred
- 3 years' claims experience preferred
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Requires advanced knowledge of property construction
- Experience writing structural damage estimates using Xactimate software preferred
- Knowledge of State Fair Claims Practice Acts and generally accepted loss reserving practices a plus
- Must be able to carry, manipulate and climb ladders, balance at various heights, stoop, bend and/or crawl to inspect structures
- Must be able to work outside in all temperatures and inspect property physically and visually
- General computer knowledge including Word and Excel programs
- Strong organizational and time management skills essential
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments
- Must be able to travel overnight as job requires
