Madison Mutual Insurance Company is currently seeking a positive and professional individual for the position of Personal Lines Auto Insurance Underwriter.
The Personal Lines Auto Insurance Underwriter evaluates applications for insurance policies and assesses the degree of risk to the insurance company. The individual in this position determines under what conditions the application will be accepted, and reviews policies for possible cancellation or non-renewal, and reviews changes to policies in accordance with Company guidelines. The Personal Lines Auto Insurance Underwriter works with the Company agencies regarding production and profitability and provides excellent customer service to agents and policyholders. The Personal Lines Auto Insurance Underwriter also directs underwriting support staff to achieve departmental and Company goals and objectives and provides input to Product Managers on changes to underwriting processes to improve efficiency and achieve better results for the Company on a by-product basis.
The perfect candidate preferably has a four-year college degree or at least 2 years of experience in the personal lines auto insurance industry as well as knowledge of and experience with insurance rules, rating, and regulations. The perfect candidate also has working knowledge of insurance rules, rating, and regulations. A current P & C insurance producer's license, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent math skills and proficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite products is a must.
Local candidates only with no relocation reimbursement. This position requires a minimum of two days per week in our Edwardsville, IL Home Office (near St. Louis, MO).
