Position Title: Classroom Teacher, Middle School Dance 2025-2026 SY

Length of Work Yr: 9 months

Salary Range: $52,025 - $67,587

Placement based on education and experience

Department: Madison No.1 Middle School

Reports To: School Principal and Director for Signature Programs

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Bachelor of Arts Degree with emphasis in Dance
2. Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain
3. Dance studio experience, preferred

JOB GOAL:

This position will be vital in providing instruction to middle school (grades 5-8) so that they can grow with skill and confidence in their dancing skills.  This instructor will be teaching different level dance classes including jazz, ballet and hip hop.  This instructor will also be collaborating with fellow dance teachers and administration to consistently evaluate and improve the Madison School District dance program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develops lesson plans for beginner through advanced dance classes.
2. Participates in the continued goal of the district's competititve dance programs.
3. Uses effective Classroom Management techniques.
4. Teaches district approved curriculum.
5. Keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
6. Effectively utilizes district technologies appropriate to the position and assumes responsibility for attending district training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
7. Maintains a safe environment for students, conducive to learning.
8. Maintains regular attendance
9. Complies with State Law and District policies and regulations.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal and Director for Signature Programs

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Maintains valid certifications, IVP fingerprint clearance card and Appropriately Certified status.  Observes teacher calendar and all Madison School District policies. Salary to be determined yearly according to Governing Board approved range.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated by the building principal or designee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises classroom employees, students and volunteers.
