KENNEL TECHNICIAN
Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is currently seeking a self-reliant, positive, team player to be a kennel technician. This is a Full-Time position. This individual must possess a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, be highly motivated, and be able to lift 50 lbs on a daily basis. Must be comfortable working with both dogs, and cats, cleaning cages, litter pans, etc. and able to lift 50lbs. Weekend work is required. All employees must work one weekend day. Must be able to arrive on time daily (all shifts start at 8am) and have reliable transportation to and from work. Some holiday work is required and is a short 4 hour shift if so.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shelter facilities.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff and management.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments.
- Ensure proper handling and care of animals to promote their well-being.
- Engage with potential adopters, providing excellent customer service and support.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
