What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Education Practical Nurse (PN) Clinical Instructor position at Madison-Oneida BOCES?
Duties: Responsibilities include:
- Serve as a role model for students in the clinical setting
- Complete and monitor forms related to student PN clinical
- Complete any required training provided by the facility
- Orient students to the clinical facility staff and unit
- Assign patient care tasks according to students’ capabilities and clinical rotation objectives.
- Be present on the clinical unit while students are engaged in patient care
- Lead pre- and post-clinical conferences for students.
- Report accurate student attendance, student evaluation, and student feedback
- Report relevant information to the Health Occupations Coordinator
- Monitor health documentation
- Maintain current CPR-AED certification.
- Ensure compliance with New York State RN licensure requirements
- Communicate schedule changes with the clinical facility.
- Maintain consistency and fairness when evaluating and guiding students
- Ensure students’ activities are within the LPN scope of practice
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher Registered Nurse (RN) with recent medical/surgical and extended care experience, including medication administration. Teaching experience, customer service experience, effective verbal communication, and public relations skills a plus. Microsoft Office proficiency preferred. Pre-employment background check and drug test may be required.
