The Technical Director is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of production for worship services, events, and special programs. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and leadership skills to ensure that the church's message and worship experiences are effectively communicated to the congregation and online audience. The Technical Director plays a vital role in enabling the Worship ministry to fulfill its mission and vision of bringing “one more” into the presence of Jesus.

Responsibilities :

Recruit, train, and lead a team of production volunteers and staff members.
Serve as manager of the worship technology within our facility across all departments to include : regular maintenance, documentation, and knowledge of systems.
Manage and oversee the Tech budget.
Oversee our live-streaming processes and produce a high quality livestream experience.
Collaborate with the technical team to create high-quality worship experiences, including live mixing, lighting cues, and video presentations.
Always maintain a forward-thinking approach. Keep the tech team of Heritage relevant and updated so we continue to meet the needs of our growing community.
Work with the Worship Pastor, creative, and executive team by giving creative input to enhance services.
Develop and implement systems and procedures related to AVL requests.
Build a community of tech volunteers that incorporates healthy aspects of small group life and leadership development.

Requisite Skills :

Clear communicator, able to pass on the words of others without muddying the message.

Able to routinely, lovingly offer corrections to team members as a way to build them up.

Knowledge of and ability to operate in any of the roles of the tech team to better facilitate correcting / training team members.

Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and independence.

Some experience in mixing audio successfully in a live environment on large digital consoles.

Prefer familiarity with personal monitoring and Dante.

Knowledge of lighting in the context of worship services.

Familiarity with DMX programming.

Prefer proficient knowledge on streaming video technology.

Prefer proficient knowledge of ProPresenter 7 software.

Physical Demands :

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding without a fear of heights.
